Cate Blanchett as Bob Dylan (I'm Not There)

I also heard about, but have yet to watch:
Hilary Swank in Boys Don't Cry

55. SUPERFICIAL THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

Finding out about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley & Jason Statham.
Applauding beautiful celebrities for finding each other is sadly one of my guiltiest pleasures.

Natalie Portman's baby being born on my birthday.

44. TAKE NO PRISONERS

I've made it my mission today to watch every single GAGAVISION video out there.

But Gaga's not the first self proclaimed obsession I've had, just the latest. Lets review:

 2009 LADY GAGA
I remember it was one of these images in The London Paper that started this whole thing.

2007/2008 EDIE SEDGWICK
Despite what the critics had to say, I absolutely loved Factory Girl. I cut my hair, did the makeup, danced the dance. With my admiration for the 60's and Warhol, my obsession with Edie was just inevitable.

 2006 DAVID LACHAPELLE
This man is the reason I got into photography.

2002 NATALIE PORTMAN
The way I feel about the Star Wars Saga is a story all on it's own, but no doubt it spawned a weekness for Natalie.

2000 SAILOR MOON
Meatball hair, learning Japanese, importing comic books, designing a website, making up my own characters. Absolutely full blown obsession.

28. SUPERFICIAL THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

My inner child
photographers, jersey shore, gaga...kids do it so much better

Having my roots (properly) re-done
Never, ever EVER try to bleach your roots at home by yourself. Ever. They WILL turn orange. Your WILL want to cry.

The interesting compliments you receive after walking out of a salon knowing your don't look like a science experiment anymore
1. "hey lady you lookin' well fine today...excuse me...hey! i'm in fashion you know!"
2. "i would never forgive myself if i didnt speak to you. is that your boyfriend? no? you like english men? well...you know what they say, men are like money... you can never have enough"
3. "i've seen you somewhere before...oh i know, in my dreams"
4. "can i have your number? please? i'll polish your shoes."

This week's episode of Gossip Girl
I'm not giving anything away, but the show got really good again finally.

Excellent send offs

25. BLONDE

so i'm not a natural blonde by any means. my common sense seems to be in tact, i dont have blue eyes, and my skin doesnt go bright red the minute i step into the sun (which is probably more associated with gingers, but whatever).

but i've spent all of 2010 gradually lightening my hair, probably 3-4 hours at the salon at a time, totaling up to about 2 weeks of my year spent bleaching my roots and toning my rapidly growing coiffure, and i have to say it's been worth it.

i don't know if there's any truth to the phrase blondes have more fun, i've definitely had just as much fun as a brunette, with red hair, even dark blue, but as someone who likes to change their hair as fast as some people change their relationship status, i've started to wonder why i keep coming back to the platinum blonde look that's got a hint of brown roots growing out now as i type this.

and i think i've figured it out: barbie.
this lady has been an influence on my life since i was a little girl in the soviet union. moving to canada at the age of 5 i actually told my aunt i was "going to visit barbie's house".

talk about being an ideal target market.

so here's barbie in all her glory, along with some of the un-natural blondes i've always admired; not for their hair colour per-say, but for the attitude these women have behind it, that i know this lighter shade contributes to.

"best hair in south london" someone once said to me.
i mean, there's gotta be something to it...

21. HAPPINESS

Superficial things that contribute to the immense happiness that is my life right now:

Snooki: "I don't go tanning tanning anymore because Obama put a 10% tax on tanning, and I feel like he did that intentionally for us. McCain would never put a 10% tax on tanning. Because he's pale and he'd probably wanna be tanned. Obama doesn't have that problem. Obviously."

People I live with making incredible food.

Hackney Wicked Festival... great people, amazing music and the cutest children ever. Check out Karma Junkie and Last Seen Wearing

Vanity Fair September Issue
Lady Gaga, Nick Knight, Ellen Von Unwerth... possibly the closest to perfect issue of a magazine I could ever ask for.

Your love is nothing I can't fight. Can't sleep with a man who dims my shine.

13. NEW WORK

so i've decided to put up some finished work from my northern heights project. this isnt all of it, i still need to fish out two prints from a friends house.

never hold a girl too tightly, she can't breathe when you speak
there's no such thing as too much gaga right? ...didn't think so

6.5.10

i think the biggest compliment i've ever heard is "warhol would have loved you"... and i'm so jealous that gaga got that honor... for now at least.
