47. DO YOU JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER?

A friend of mine just showed this to me again, something I haven't seen in almost a year; a website made by eight women now graduating from The London College of Communication.

It's a beautiful project about female identity- a study of the self and its interaction with another.
I Don't Know What's Gotten Into Me explores the synergy between artist and subject as it takes away the glossy lens of the social media and replaces it with another member of the group.

The eight individual projects each explore a different aspect of personality as the girls define themselves through secrets, reactions, dance and dress up. Put together, the final piece accurately upholds their notion that "a single image can never be a full illustration of the individual."

46. THERE'S JUST TOO MUCH

1.These are works by  Leif Podhajsky, an artist, designer and co-runner of design studio And.
He's best known for designing album covers and artwork for bands and artists such as Lykki Li and Tame Impala, among others. His psychedelic take on geometry and collage make his works endlessly amusing to look at. His pieces are balanced, harmonious and strikingly beautiful with emphasis on "nature, time, magic, love, and the importance of living in the moment."

2.If you're a magazine fiend such as myself then you have probably heard of Purple Fashion Magazine. Now, as these fine collections of glossy editorials are roughly £16 per issue, sometimes the splurge might be a tad too much. So here's their less tangible online diary, filled with daily updates and limitless inspiration and insight:

3.Some music to get your creative juices flowing (Thanks to xlr8r's interview with Leif Podhajsky

 Psychedelic Turkish Pop/Funk

Shigeto - After The Smoke
Electronic

4. Famous are Dreaming is a series by Portuguese artist Luis Dourado. Although he claims that there is no particular technique he is loyal to, his aesthetic shares likeness that of Leif Podhajsky: psychedelic, geometric and harmonious. I'm selfishly choosing this collection in particular  because it has been a great inspiration for the project I am currently working on, but take a look at the rest of his creations here.

45. STURDY MECHANICS AND DELICATE ANATOMIES

There are no words to explain how immensely talented jewelry designer Olga Noronha is. I have nothing but praise for her.

She is a power house of creativity, hard work, inspiration, and to top it all off she is as sugar sweet and courteous as can be.

We first met over a year ago when she needed a model to showcase her Incarcerated Bodies piece at the Au Contraire catwalk show for second year BA Jewelry Design students at Central Saint Martins.
Since that day I couldn't help but keep up with her work, the elegant yet raw, striking yet tasteful pieces that reinvent the modern day definition of jewelry and how we wear it.

44. TAKE NO PRISONERS

I've made it my mission today to watch every single GAGAVISION video out there.

But Gaga's not the first self proclaimed obsession I've had, just the latest. Lets review:

 2009 LADY GAGA
I remember it was one of these images in The London Paper that started this whole thing.

2007/2008 EDIE SEDGWICK
Despite what the critics had to say, I absolutely loved Factory Girl. I cut my hair, did the makeup, danced the dance. With my admiration for the 60's and Warhol, my obsession with Edie was just inevitable.

 2006 DAVID LACHAPELLE
This man is the reason I got into photography.

2002 NATALIE PORTMAN
The way I feel about the Star Wars Saga is a story all on it's own, but no doubt it spawned a weekness for Natalie.

2000 SAILOR MOON
Meatball hair, learning Japanese, importing comic books, designing a website, making up my own characters. Absolutely full blown obsession.

43. SERENITY

If you're like me and appreciate the intricacies of what goes on in the minds of those who produce gorgeously serene artwork, then check out one of my best friends' blog screamprofanity - Design Inspirations and Much Much More.
Frequently Updated, she uncovers artists that appeal to the girly girl inside of you, with a soft spot for fashion, watercolours and illustration.

42. HILARIOUS WEBSITES

Here are two websites that have nothing to do with each other, but are equally as funny.

When you expose all your film on your grandfather's old Zenit because the latch that holds the back is flimsy, there's no better way to keep yourself from smashing the thing into pieces than laughter. shitphotojournalistslike is all about...well...shit that photojournalists like, i don't know if it's only funny to photographers, so judge for yourselves.
