71. LANA DEL REY
Did you know that the best way to get a song out of your head is to listen to it?
Well try as I may I cannot get this chick’s voice out of mine.
Her name is Lana Del Rey. Lana as in Lana Turner, Del Rey as in the Ford Del Rey.
And doesn’t she remind you of someone?
Her face (to me at least) looks like what would happen if you took Emma Watson’s smile and hair colour and mixed it with Liv Tyler’s mouth and face shape.

Her voice has that cool, lazy blues sound to it, something along the lines of Amy Winehouse + Cocorosie + Cat Power.
She formerly came out under the name Lizzy Grant (her real name) but unfortunately had no luck in the mainstream world. It wasn’t her music that let her down though. “Lizzy’s” song Kill Kill (2009) is consecutive with what she’s come out with recently, as is the music video. So it can only be understood that her image (bleached blonde and bubbly) and the way she was marketed was what failed her.

Lana Del Rey is currently in the midst of much controversy from her lips to her upbringing and is being criticized of being too “fake”.
The way I see it her music is fresh, interesting, and definitely catchy; so as far as I’m concerned, the girl is doing something right.
Her newest single Born to Die is already a big hit online, so savor it now before it gets overplayed on the radio.
Del Rey’s debut album Born to Die is out January 30th 2012.

67. WOULD YOU DO IT?
Marilyn Monroe did it and so did Megan Fox. And Angelina Jolie and apparently Tyra Banks. God knows Heidi Montag sure did it.
What all these ladies have in common is that they've all had cosmetic surgery (as if the Heidi Montag comment didn't give it away). Don't believe me? See for yourself:

But the point of this post isn't just to trash and judge these celebrities...there's already enough written on that matter.
The point is to bring attention to a lesser known procedure, one that might just blow all these Hollywood tweaks and tucks out of the water:
Cosmetic Eye Colour Surgery.
Cosmetic Eye Colour Surgery.
It's a procedure that lets you permanently change the colour of your eyes! And it's no surprise that even though none of the surgeries have been proven medically safe, a staggering number of people are lining up to get them done, and an even higher number is seriously considering to do so.
A QUICK GUIDE TO WHAT'S OUT THERE
(15 minutes per eye)
A coloured flexible silicone implant is folded and inserted on top of the original iris.

The risks: infections, ocular hypertension, iritis and corneal edema
PROS: One of the safer procedures, as it is an intraocular lens, similar idea as what is placed in the eye during cataract surgery.
CONS: Aside from the risks, it is not yet approved, and up close they still look fake.

The website no longer exists, and no new information has been posted, so as far as I'm concerned the procedure was abolished. For anyone still interested, click here.

A laser is used to brighten the pigment in the eyes that makes them brown (melanin). In 2-3 weeks, eyes gradually lighten until they are blue.

The risks: Inventor Dr. Gregg Homer admits there is no way to know what the long term risks may be. Could lead to glaucoma. Eyes more sensitive to light.
PROS: Natural looking, as the procedure relies on your body to do most of the work (a laser heats up the pigment cells, which then trigger the body to recognize them as damaged, sending out a protein. Consequentially another feature digests the tissue at a molecular level).
CONS: If melanin is removed, eyes are more prone to damage from ultraviolet and high-frequency visible light.
Not yet approved. Tested on animals.

Please keep in mind, there is a high risk of damage in all these procedures that could lead to severe physical problems.
So... would you do it?
If your answer is yes, no, or you're on the fence, please do your research.
The last thing anyone wants is to go blind because of their vanity.
